1987. Grupo de pop inglés formado en 1983. Su éxito se debió en parte a las letras de sus canciones: una mezcla entre la política marxista y reflexiones sobre la Iglesia. Tuvo diversas formaciones y se separaron de buen rollo en 1988.Tras la formación, el bajista Norman Cook alcanzaría gran popularidad como abanderado de la musica electrónica, "Beats International", "Freak Power" o "Fatboy Slim" fueron grupos a su cargo. Paul Heaton y Dave Hemingway, junto a la vocalista Sean Welch, formaron la banda “The Beautiful South”.
Como curiosidad, señalar que los teloneros de sus conciertos eran ellos mismos con otro nombre. Y, bueno, como canción de este lunes elijo este "Me and the farmer" porque como dicen ellos, "El granjero es un ladrón feliz al que Jesús odia a diario..."
