ME PARTO LA "CHRISTMA": 4.- SAINT ETIENNE

Saint Etienne es un grupo londinense de indie pop, aunque más tirando a la música dance (otros lo etiquetan como que hacen "pop clásico"). Su nombre es debido al equipo de fútbol que cautivó a toda Europa a mediados de los 70; y siendo quizá el equipo más modesto que haya llegado a una final de la Copa de Europa realizando un juego más que atractivo.

Grupo imprescindible para entender la música de los 90, se dieron a conocer al gran público con temas como la versión del lásico de Neil Young "Only love can break your heart", así como esa maravilla que es el "He´s on the phone" (canción con la que Sarah Cracknell me sonrió en el FIB) :-PPP

De ellos elijo este "I was born on Chritsmas day" como villancico inolvidable. Canción contenida en el disco "Tiger bay" [1994]; es una canción que invita a bailar con ese toque entre nostálgico y alegre que suele caracterizar la musica de Saint Etienne. Muy propia para estas fiestas...
