"Christmas at the zoo" está contenido en el album "Clouds taste metallic" de los Flaming lips. Compuesta en 1995, tiene ese aire de canción navideña sin abandonar para nada los principios psicodélicos que caracterizan a los Flaming.Y el video es una buena prueba de ello. Muy inspirado en esos 60/70, cen blanco y negro con efectos psicodélicos en los animales; como si estos se hubiesen tomado un LSD...
La letra es de lo más sencilla: ¿a quién no le gustaría ir al zoo por Navidad para abrirles la jaula a los animales y que sean libres (quien quiera serlo)?. La metáfora es más compleja; pero es Navidad, ¿no?.
